Improving Curb Appeal With Lawn Care (Before You List or Rent)
The lawn care moves that add the most curb appeal in Charlotte County — what to do 30 days out, one week out, and the day before a showing.
Realtors will tell you the yard sells the house before anyone opens the front door. Whether you're listing, refinancing, or turning a rental — here's the lawn care sequence we run when a Charlotte County client says 'we've got 30 days.'
30 days out — start weekly mowing
Even if you were on bi-weekly (or nothing), switch to weekly cuts. In three or four visits the lawn thickens up, weeds get chopped down before they seed, and the color evens out.
30 days out — trim every shrub
Reshape every hedge, bush, and palm on the property. This alone dramatically changes what the house looks like from the curb.
3 weeks out — clean the beds
Pull weeds, refresh mulch, and clear any dead plants. Fresh mulch is one of the cheapest curb-appeal upgrades on Earth.
2 weeks out — edge everything, sharply
Every driveway, sidewalk, curb, and bed line gets a crisp vertical edge. This is the single detail buyers notice most, whether they know it or not. See why in our [edging benefits post](/blog/benefits-of-professional-lawn-edging).
1 week out — haul the yard junk
Old grills, broken planters, dead patio furniture, kids' toys, storm debris in the side yard — all of it. Buyers see clutter and mentally add 'work.' Call us and we'll [haul the yard junk](/services/yard-debris-removal) in one visit.
Day before — mow, edge, blow
One last full-service visit. Mow, edge every hard surface, blow the driveway and sidewalks clean. The property is 'showing ready' the moment we drive off.
Bundle it into one service call
Almost all of the above is stuff we do together in a single [lawn care visit](/lawn-care). Call (941) 204-3365 with the target date and we'll build a schedule that lands your property at its sharpest right before it lists.
